In 2017, Marseille will proudly host the 43rd edition of the EBMT Annual Meeting, including the 33rd EBMT Nurses Group meeting, 16th EBMT Data Management Group Meeting, 9th EBMT Quality Management Group Meeting, 2nd EBMT Pharmacist Day, and 11th EBMT Patient & Family Day.

Marseille is the oldest city in France, with Greek settlers arriving from Phocéa around 600 B.C. Through centuries, the city became one of the most important harbours in the Mediterranean area. Over centuries, the city went through successive mutations; it is now turning towards modern industries and services, including successful biotech companies. Second after Paris for its scientific potential, the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur (PACA) region attracts talented scientists who benefit of world-class research facilities and teams focusing on oncology, immunology, rare genetic diseases, infectious diseases and neurosciences to name a few. The Institut Paoli-Calmettes, the Comprehensive Cancer Centre, and the University Hospital, AP-HM, host two of the oldest and most active French hematopoietic stem cell transplant programs for adults and children respectively.
